Discover Me
Team & Beginnings
The Discover Me project is the brainchild of Trinidadian music producer, Jason Dasent, who in 2016 in his home country, took the initiative to bring “DiscoverME Artist of the Month” to life, providing a vehicle that propelled worthy unknown artistes into the public eye utilizing a multifaceted approach.
Featured for one month each, Jason's Studio Jay Recording Ltd alongside DM collaborator Pixel Play Media, produced world-class audio-visual material for each chosen artist which formed the basis of a nationwide awareness campaign. This included heavy rotation on the DM collaborator station Hott 93, a one-minute video that was shown at T&T’s largest Cineplex, MovieTowne multiple times per day, every day for that month, all culminating in a live concert, powered by DM collaborator Rene Sound & Vision, at the end of each month.

In addition to this exposure, Jason's wife Sarah, a visual artist and marketing professional, arranged for the artists to be coached by industry experts in specially designed workshops to improve their confidence and stage presence.

This successful project gained significant sponsorship and ran for three successive years in Trinidad until Jason and Sarah’s move to the UK in late 2019.

After Jay completed an MA in Music/Business at BIMM London in 2021, the couple moved to Kelham Island in Sheffield, where they met and teamed up with local entrepreneur Joe Spriggs, who saw the immense potential of the “Discover Me” model.
Joe opened the Alder Bar in Kelham Island 2 years ago and together with his hard-working team, has since developed it into the sensational, flourishing venue we know today. It's been voted "Best Boozer" 2022 and was recently nominated for "Best Bar" 2023 by Exposed Awards.
It was no surprise that Jay, Sarah and Joe decided to launch We Discover Artists Ltd, a company which will utilise and tweak Discover Me’s tried and tested model to provide a dynamic platform, starting in the Sheffield area, for unknown artists to become discovered!
